Henry's aircraft.
This is a SCRATCH built 1/7th scale Hawker Tempest that was designed from a Three view photo that was converted to CAD plans. It took Henry 15 months including research and mold time, to build this aircraft with Three months for the paint and detail work. The molds where used for the nose, wheel wells and other components. The fuselage and wings are built from foam, balsa and graphite glass sheeting and then vacuum bagged.
The full up weight is 13 lbs. 5 oz. including 4 pounds of battery and has a wing span of 70". The landing gear used for the mains are from spring air and the tail wheel is home made.
The power for this aircraft is a ACTRO electric brushless sensor less motor that is made in Germany and controlled by a 70 AMP electronic speed control operating from 28 cells NiMH batteries with a capacity of 3.3 AH. providing up to 950 watts, for take off, turning a APC 16 X 10 electric prop. Flies for around 8+ minutes, could be longer but this was it's first flight.
The paint used is Brodak Dope that was mixed to provide the custom colors and the decals are home made using a ink jet printer and sealed with a clear coat of dope.
Henry says it flies really nice.

Homemade decals used throughout. Home made tail wheel assembly.
