Secretary Report.    More updates on the web page. Need articles to place in web page, building tips, product reports etc. etc.

My New Email address is: Ramboamt@verizon.net

For members who have internet access please send me your Email address and I will Email your newsletter to you. This saves the club approx. fifty five cents per newsletter. You can use the above Email address to send your address to.

Still working on getting the web site updated. Finally got the DSL working correctly now all it takes is getting Microsoft Front Page to upload the web page updates. I recently found out that the Microsoft Front Page server extensions on the web site are corrupted and I will need to upload the site again after our server deletes the web page from the server.

I have included, with the newsletter, the flyer for the float fly. So when you go to your local hobby shop see if you can post it their or even at the other flying fields this way we can get more flyers to the float fly this will help pay for the rental fee charged by the park, $50.00.

Club meeting itinerary:                                  This will be discussed at the next meeting.

1.     Purchase of a storage container for the club field lawn mower and other club field items.

2.     Installation of sprinklers in the infield and around the Heli pad.

3.     Runway work party scheduling date

Up Coming events:                  Float fly at Prado Park in chino, 15 OCT.

Old Business.

We will be installing water to the field on the 10th of Sept, the day after the club swap meet, so if you would like to come and help out it would be deeply appreciated.

We are seeking money donations to help pay for the pipe, valves and other hardware for the water installation. Any amount would be appreciated.

We are seeking donations of “Asphalt driveway sealer” to finish the sealing of the runway. This can be purchased at your local hardware store.

Mr. Sylvester will be picking up the pipe and valves with Mr. Hill not only donating his time but also $100.00 towards the pipe installation expenses.

I spoke to Mr. Matlack about the availability of a truck portable storage container and he said that the outfit at the harbor that sells these units wants at least $1500.00 for one. He is looking into other sources and will get back to me later.

The fuel has been ordered, well it will be on Monday 28, and I hope it will be available for pick up the same day or during the week. Once I have the fuel total purchase amount I will contact the parties who ordered the fuel and let you know the amount owed and how to pick up the fuel, I will either bring it out to the field or you can come by my house.

Mr. Talkington has donated another trainer to the club so give him a BIG thank you.

The club dues increase has been passed so starting Jan 01 ’07 the club dues will be $60.00

That is only a $15.00 increase, which, compared to other clubs increase is very small and we are still the lowest dues cost club around. You will see an enclosed By-Laws paper to replace the current one you have also included are the flyers for the swap meet and the float fly so you can place these around town to advertise the events.

It looks like Taco Joes has been dropped from the club meeting place. We have had a very low turnout for these meetings so we will be doing the meetings at the club field until the membership wants a change in venue.

If you happen to notice the Byron KFIR in the “For sale/wanted” section is no longer listed. It was sold this last week all because it was listed on our web site. The buyer did a Google search for the KFIR and it directed him to our page right off. See the “For sale/wanted” section does work so send your “For sale/wanted” items to me and I will post them on the web site.

New Business.    If you read the above “Old business” you noticed a field work party to install the water line to the field, well, it’s in. We now have potable drinking water out to the east pit area shade and we will be installing a solar powered watering system to take care of the infield grass watering.

Our next field work party will be the installation of the sprinkler system to the infield grass areas. The grass that will be seeded will be winter rye, low maintenance and it holds up pretty well. Mr. Hill will be bringing out a tiller for the infield grass areas to prep it for the grass seeding after the water lines have been installed. We are looking at seeding the area between the taxi ways and to the east towards the Heli pad and possibly around the Heli pad. When all of the grass is grown it will keep the dust down, help cool the area and provide a nice place to land the gliders and other aircraft with little to no damage.

The following is the list of people that have donated to the field water pipe fund to help repay Mr. Silvester for the money he spent on the purchase of the pipe and other items for the installation, Mr. Silvester spent $900.00 of his own money so that we would have everything ready on the day of the field work party.

                                                      Water to field donations.
Tom bright .. $20.00     Pat Morgan..$20.00     Warren Schlaberg.. $50.00     George Reed .. $40.00

Shelby Wolgamot .. $50.00   Bryan Atkinson .. $100.00    Frank Quizon .. $20.00    Jason Groves .. $50.00

The people listed above donated at the field and they where part of the work party. Their have been other donations so if I have missed your name let me know and I will place your name on the list.

Mr. Hill brought out a large trencher, to dig the trench for the water pipe and without this unit we would still be digging the trench, and a tractor with a bucket on the front and a scraper on the rear for cleaning up the weeds around the runway and the turn pylons and to grade the parking lot for better water runoff when the rains come. Mr. Hill had to make two trips to the field to bring the equipment to the filed and two trips to take them back to the rental yard.

The tractor was operated all day, and I do mean all day, by Mr. Widmer. He was having so much fun operating the tractor, scraping away the weeds and other debris from around the runway and the turn pylons that we almost had to drag him off of the tractor to come in and have some lunch.

Speaking of lunch we had hot dogs that where donated by Mr. Talkington and cooked by Suzie Stilson. The Stilson’s are new members who only joined the club two months ago and have been helping out when ever they can.

As mentioned in the last newsletter we are seeking donations of “Driveway sealer”. The brand we have been using is “Black magic” two year driveway sealer. I purchased three, five gallon buckets at Lowe’s for around $14.00 per bucket

We now have an “Advertising/Information officer and that officer is Terry Talkington so let’s give him a big hand and all of the support he needs to take on this very large and important position.

Event Report:          We had the trainer races and had a very good turn out for the race. We had nine pilots sign up and race. The racing was very close this time with the only casualty was the club Secretary/newsletter editor/Webmaster as his plane was damaged by the wind, it blew my plane over in its work stand during the first heat and damaged the aileron servo mount, if this hadn’t of happened I would have been the winner again, , speaking of the wind at times it was so strong the lap times where almost as long as it takes to go around the California motor speedway.

                                                            And here are the winners.

Rick Ogden 1st                Jim Wilson 2nd            Jason Groves 3rd

The Club swap meet was poorly attended by sellers and buyers alike as their where only seven sellers and only four buyers. Maybe with the new “Advertising/Information” officer, Mr. Talkington, we will do better in the future.

New member(s).    Jason Groves, Let’s give him a warm welcome aboard.
