Old Business.

We need to have a club designated flight instructor who has gone through the AMA trainer/instructor guidelines and can show their ability to train/instruct. This is for liability purposes to qualify for the AMA insurance for the club, the instructor and the student. The flight instructor must allow four hours per month and have the trainer available all of the time. Time allotted for training is between 09:00 and 12:00. This gives the other members time to fly their larger and faster aircraft without the worry of a student causing an accident or the student worrying about the other aircraft.

The November trainer race BBQ will be a pot luck affair.  So bring what you like so long as it is Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Steaks, Ham, Eggs, I know they keep falling through the grating on the grill, or what ever you want.

At the next club meeting we will be taking down “who” will be bringing “what” to help keep from bringing the same item, if its steak I wont mind.

New Business.                                                       The new, and old, club officers are:

President ……………. Harry Hill        Vice President ………….. Tom Widmer

Treasurer ……………. Rick Ogden    Safety officer……. Ron Spenser, Jim Wilson and Bryan Atkinson

Secretary / News Letter Editor / Webmaster ………….. Richard D. Rittmiller

Event Coordinator / Advertising officer ……………… Terry Talkington

We will be doing December’s “slurry party”, sealing the cracks on the field runway and taxi ways plus other runway maintenance, painting the runway strips and the FAA mandated X’s, on Sunday December 10th. We will need volunteers for the labor party so come to the club meeting on the 10th.

Event Report:           We had the club “Trainer race” finals at the club field and had a good turnout with ten pilot’s signing up. The racing was very close with only one mishap, Cody Mclean having a mid air with Ron Spenser with Cody’s aircraft getting the worst of it. He lost the tail feathers and the plane flew pretty good until it pitched nose up and rolled over and went straight into the ground. Ron was able to land his plane but, was out of the races for the day.

The winner’s of the season finals are First place Tom Widmer with Second place going to Jim Wilson and in Third place going to Rick Ogden.

The “Trainer race” season total points winner is Rick Ogden; Second place is Jim Wilson and in Third place is Tom Widmer.
