We
will be installing the “OK to solo green sticker” on members ID cards from

each member needs to be looking for them on other members, and guests, cards as
well.

Mr. Hill, Mr. Bass, Mr. Ogden, Mr. Bright and
myself will be their to represent the club, and several other members whose
names I don’t remember, Sorry, and hopefully draw more interest in our club
and hobby.
As I have been saying in the last
couple of newsletters if you have not received your membership card it could be
one of several reasons, wrong or NO AMA membership number, wrong address or name
spelling on your info card, and I could have possibly just missed it, any way
contact me and I will fix this problem.

Old
Business. If
you look closely at the AMA convention picture in the AMA’s Model Aviation
magazine for April 2006 index page, and the larger picture on page 18 – 19,
you can see our booth in the lower left hand corner being manned by Mr. Bright,
just to the left of the Batteries America sign, shown talking to a potential
member. Does this mean we need to ask for Mr. Bright’s autograph?
Well we had our first Thursday night meeting at Taco Joes, it was also
the club auction, and I have not heard any feed back on the location and the
time so it must be working?
We
will be installing the “OK to solo green sticker” on members ID cards from
now on, I will be bringing them to the field this coming up Sunday, 02Mar06, and
giving them to the club “Solo
flight committee” to pass out at the field. Everybody needs to have one on

The MARKS club has
asked us to join them in participating at the Redlands Fly-in, They, the MARKS
club, are getting the required sanctions and made contact with the City of
Redlands regarding a program which will include flying and static displays, last
years fly-in was very successful but will be much better with both clubs working
together, sharing flying time and teaching the public about the RC hobby.
Andreas has submitted
a program to the city that includes multiple ten minute slots of flying
demonstrations throughout the day. I would like a couple of our pilots
participating in the IMAC demonstrations, there will also be some helicopter
demonstrations that we can participate in. There will be a time for war birds of
both wars and a demonstration of small electrics with about ten airborne at once
doing stunts.
Thank You All,
Harry Hill, President, AMAA
Also
this Email letter was sent out by Mr. Bass.
I would like to put out to our members that we need some support for this years Redlands Fly-In Sat. May 6th 2006.
I am not to sure who has let Harry know if they can, or can not, attend but last year was not so good for our club, I thought. We only had just a few of us show up with just a hand full of planes, it made our club look kinda bad, I thought. We are teaming up with the Marks club and we don’t want to, well, get shown up again this year plus we will have flying time and as far as I know there are still time slots to fill up.
what you want to fly and what Channel you are on
so we can get that info to Andreas at MARKS.
Andreas is working real hard on getting our Clubs together this year for
this, in fact, he has done almost all the work as far as I can see with talking
to the City of Redlands getting us flying time slots through out the day etc.
etc. the least we can do is show up and help out and have loads of fun.
you can see what Andreas has already at this web address:
http://www.rcmarks.com/NewsLetters/Redlands%20Fly-In%20Detail%20Program.pdf
http://s122182881.onlinehome.us/tinc?key=joOV6bgK&start=-1&reverse=1.
Last year was fun there where many Planes to look at including a P-51
that flew in and Heli rides and Plane rides
(For a Price) and from what I understand this year is going to be even better.
They are saying a military fly over and more.
There is Breakfast (small Fee) and Lunch (Also a Small Fee) put on at the Airport. AGAIN PLEASE let us know Yes or No we need a great turn out this year from the club members.
Rick Bass
I could not have said it any better myself. So come on people, we, need
to step up to the plate and make this thing work for us. This helps us by giving
the club positive publicity, possibly new members, connections with city
administration and comradery between the clubs, which can not hurt our club.
New
Business. Mr.
Wilson sprayed weed killer around
the flying field and pit area. Let’s give him a BIG thank you for doing
that.
Speaking
of the weeds we will be setting up a date for field maintenance again to get
ride of the weeds and to finish sealing the runway and applying the white cross
stripes on the ends of the runway. We need Asphalt driveway sealant and driveway
crack patch material donated to the club to finish up the runway, approx 20+
cans of sealant should do it and what is left over, if any, can be stored for
later use. We also will need several can of White strip spray or brush on paint
for the “X’s” that need to be applied at the ends of the runway.
Safety
netting repair. It was decided to purchase more orange safety netting to be
placed behind the old green torn up netting so that both can help retain runaway
aircraft better and it is more visible.
The
web site has a “For Sale” “Wanted” section, along with this newsletter,
so if you would like to sell anything or are looking for something just contact
me either at the field, by phone or by E-Mail. The information I would need is:
1.
What
it is you are selling, Description.
2.
How
much you are asking/willing to take for it.
3.
Pictures.
4.
A way to contact you.
The
club gets 10% of all sales.
The paperwork to amend to the club by-laws club membership limit was presented and voted on at the last meeting. The amendment has past so the club By-laws will now show a 120 member limit. The amended By-law page is included with your newsletter so you can replace the old page with the new one.
Speaking
of By-laws we have a bunch of new members and I don’t remember if I sent you
the club By-laws with your membership package so if I did not send you one you
can go to the club website and down load it or If you can’t do that contact me
and I will mail you one. Thanks.
