New Business.       We might be receiving a 40 foot storage container, Mr. Hill is looking into it, all we will have to pay for is the relocation of the container. We will need to decide on where to put the container and prep the ground for its installation. The container will be set up to store the club trainer with a solar panel to provide electricity to charge the batteries. We can also store the club lawn mower and the riding tractor for moving around the roller and the weed screen and anything else we can think of.

The west runway cable attach pole, on the north side of the runway, has been installed. We are now pursuing ways to elevate the cables off of the runway several inches it would have to be easy to set up and difficult or impossible to remove from the cable. If you have any ideas let us know.

It has been brought up that we are being lax in our communication at the flight line. When retrieving A/C or other items from the flying field we need to announce our intentions to the people on the flight line.

When entering the runway we are to announce “On the runway” loudly and look to see if the people on the flight line heard you if not announce it again. Once you are clear of the runway you will need to announce “Clear of the runway” or something similar. When retrieving an A/C do so as quickly as you can, other people could be waiting to land and may have to do so quickly.

This also applies to when you have to go out into the fields beyond the runway. Announce your intentions to the flight line and proceed as quickly as possible, it is suggested that you have another person with you to keep an eye out for other A/C flying over head, and speaking of flying over head, it is not a good idea when there is somebody out in the flying field to fly over them you need to keep you’re A/C away from them so in case of a mishap you don’t hit them.

Also low altitude high speed passes over the runway are happening again. If you want to do a low altitude high speed pass you can do it over the edge of the dirt/weed line to the north of the runway. This rule is in place so if there is a problem with the A/C it will be further away from the flight line and help to prevent any injuries.

Event Report:    We had the 40 size trainer races last week. It was some pretty close racing and it became really exciting when the winds came up for the final rounds. Almost everybody went in because of the high winds. The winners are Rick Ogden in first place, Ron Spencer in second place with Ryan and Cody tying for third.

We also had a raffle at the club trainer races for three 1/32 scale “Classic planes” that are already painted and just need some minor assembly. And the winner of the raffle is Heather Bass for two of the kits and the third was won by?. The winner of the third kit was not present during the drawing but I have the winning number and here it is 7629626 if you have this number contact me and I will arrange delivery. If nobody claims this kit it will be raffled off at the next club meeting.

Model of the Month.

This is Floyd Phillips with his Skystar ARF that he custom painted himself. This is a “Scale Composite” ARF of the Skystar full size kit plane. Floyd told me it took him 40 hours to produce this nice custom paint job. Floyd powers his with an OS-91 4-stroke with on-board glow turning a 15 X 5 prop. He uses Hitec radio gear through out. He even has Aluminum wheels like the full size does. Nice work Floyd.

Raffle.

Magnum XLS 46R 2 stroke. Then winner is Harry Hill.

I know he doesn’t look very happy but he is.
